The Sportingbet sign up offer at a glance
The welcome package for new UK accounts is built as a set of Welcome Challenges. Instead of matching your first deposit, Sportingbet rewards three different kinds of bet with tokens and FreeBets. Each challenge stands on its own, you can complete them in any order, and the clock runs for 30 days from the day you register. The minimum deposit is £10, and every qualifying bet needs odds of 1/2 (1.50) or longer.
Our summary of the terms comes from current UK reviews, cross-checked against Sportingbet's own help centre on how FreeBets, Odds Boosts and Back-Up Bets behave. Promotions change without notice, so treat the table as a snapshot taken in October 2026 and confirm the live version under Offers → More Info once you are logged in.
| Challenge | Qualifying bet | Reward | Key limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Football | £10+ pre-match football single at 1/2 (1.50) or longer | Odds Boost token, +10% | Max £10 stake on the boosted bet, 72 hours to use it |
| Acca | £10+ accumulator with 3 or more selections, each at 1/2 (1.50) or longer | FreeBet worth 50% of your stake | FreeBet capped at £10 |
| In-Play | £10+ in-play single at 1/2 (1.50) or longer | 50% Back-Up Bet token | Refund paid as a FreeBet and capped — the cap is shown in Offers |
Reviews add the three rewards up to a headline of "up to £50 in FreeBets and tokens". Read that as a ceiling quoted at the time of writing rather than a guaranteed sum: on plain £10 stakes the value is noticeably lower, and our welcome bonus maths page works through the numbers bet by bet.
Who can and cannot claim it
Sportingbet's help centre is direct on the first point: every player is eligible for only one sign up offer. The Standard Promotional Terms for the UK add that a "new player" promotion is open only to someone who has never opened or funded an account with the brand, and that it cannot be combined with any other promotion.
The rule that catches most people is the shared licence. Sportingbet in Great Britain is run by LC International Limited, part of the Entain Group, and under current regulations no new accounts are permitted across brands operating under the same licence. The help centre names Coral, bwin and PartyPoker alongside Sportingbet. Hold one of those accounts and a new Sportingbet account will not open — which means no welcome offer either. Anyone who registered several accounts before 1 July 2026, under the Gibraltar licence in force at the time, may keep them but cannot add new ones.
Further conditions to keep in mind:
- You must be 18 or over and pass identity checks on your name, age and address before any withdrawal.
- Payment methods must be in your own name. Credit cards have been banned for UK gambling since 14 April 2020, including when loaded into an e-wallet or Apple Pay.
- Reviews state the offer is limited to one per household.
Our welcome offer eligibility guide covers the edge cases, from shared addresses to cards issued by Money Service Businesses.
How to claim the welcome challenges in five steps
- Register from the UK. The form has three steps and starts with your email address and a password. Choose United Kingdom as your country; the account currency is pounds sterling (£).
- Opt in before betting. Open the Offers page, find the welcome challenge, read More Info and opt in. Only bets placed after opting in count.
- Deposit at least £10. Use a debit card or another method registered in your name. The cashier shows the minimum for each method, and the UK maximum for a single deposit is £2,000.
- Place the three qualifying bets. One pre-match football single, one accumulator of three or more legs and one in-play single — each for £10 or more, each selection at 1/2 (1.50) or longer, all within 30 days of registration.
- Use your rewards. Tokens and FreeBets appear in your account and can be applied from the bet slip. Check the expiry shown on screen; reviews report that FreeBets usually last between three and seven days.
At no stage is a bonus code required. Help with the registration form itself, field by field, is on the sign-up bonus page.
Bets that will not count towards a challenge
Some bets are excluded, and getting one wrong simply means you have to place another qualifying bet. Going by reviews of the current terms, these do not qualify:
- bets you cash out, fully or partially;
- system bets;
- enhanced accas and price boosts;
- bets placed with a FreeBet or a token;
- singles below 1/2 (1.50), or an acca where any one leg is shorter than that.
Edit My Bet needs care too. Technically it cashes out your original bet and places a new one, so editing a qualifying bet can change whether it still counts.
Other Sportingbet bonus types in brief
The welcome challenges are only one part of the picture. Sportingbet's help centre describes several bonus formats, and each follows its own rules:
- FreeBet. A stake you do not pay for. If it wins you receive the net winnings (returns minus the stake) as cash, with no wagering. A £5 FreeBet at 2.50 pays £7.50. Full detail is on the free bet page.
- Odds Boost. A token that raises the price of a selection by up to 100%, with a maximum stake and maximum winnings stated on the token.
- Back Up Bet. If the bet loses, a percentage of the stake returns as a FreeBet up to a cap. It works on singles and multiples, but not on system bets or Build A Bet. Our Back Up Bet page explains how it differs from cashback.
- Free Spins and Win Spins. Casino only. Free spin winnings arrive as a withdrawal-restricted casino bonus; Win Spins keep going until you land a set number of wins. Wagering is covered in the free spins guide.
- PromoCode. A 12-digit code for betting credit from campaigns and competitions, entered in the cashier. The bonus code page sets out when you actually need one.
- Direct bonus. Credited without a deposit but with wagering attached. It is not a sign-up offer: UK players have no no-deposit welcome bonus.
UK rules in 2026 that shape every Sportingbet offer
Two Gambling Commission changes took effect on 19 January 2026, and they explain why UK welcome packages look leaner than they did a year or two ago. Older payment rules still apply alongside them.
| Rule | In force since | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Wagering capped at 10x | 19 January 2026 | A bonus with play-through can require at most 10 times its value — £100 of bets on a £10 bonus |
| No mixed-product promotions | 19 January 2026 | A sports bet can no longer earn casino free spins, so a sports welcome offer stays sports only |
| Credit card ban | 14 April 2020 | No credit cards, not even inside an e-wallet or Apple Pay |
| Cards from Money Service Businesses refused | 15 July 2020 | Debit or prepaid cards from Wise, N26 or Post Office Travel are not accepted |
The 2025 version of the welcome package included a Casino Challenge with 20 free spins and a final £20 FreeBet. That structure belongs to the period before the mixed-product ban, so treat any page still advertising it as out of date.
Features worth more than a one-off bonus
A welcome package is used once; the features below apply every time you bet.
Best Odds Guaranteed. Open to UK residents on UK and Irish horse racing — win, each way and multiples. If the starting price is bigger than the price you took, you are paid at SP. It applies from 8:00 on race day and excludes ante-post, forecasts, tricasts, enhanced accas, specials and price boosts. Cashed-out bets do not benefit, and the extra paid is capped at £10,000 per day.
Cash Out. Available on singles and multiples, though not on system bets or anything staked with a FreeBet. Cashed-out bets do not count towards wagering requirements.
Build a Bet and Build a Bet+. Combine two or more selections from one event; with Build a Bet+ you can add legs from other events as well. If one leg is void, the Build a Bet it belongs to is void.
The promotions overview shows where each feature sits on the site and in the app.
