Sportingbet free spins and Win Spins explained

Sportingbet free spins are casino offers tied to named slots. Their winnings arrive as withdrawal-restricted casino bonus, carry wagering of no more than 10x and must be played at £2 a spin or less, and since January 2026 they can no longer be earned by betting on sport.

Free spins at Sportingbet sit entirely on the casino side of the account. There is no spins package bundled with the current sports welcome offer, and the spins you do see are assigned through the Casino tab of your Offers page. This page follows a spin from the moment it lands in your account to the moment its winnings become cash you can withdraw.

Where Sportingbet free spins come from

Spins appear as personalised offers. Log in, open Offers and check the Casino tab, where each offer's More Info screen lists the eligible slots, the expiry and the conditions on winnings. Some offers need you to activate them before the spins become available.

The same account works on the desktop site, in the mobile browser and in the apps. Android users will find a separate casino app on Google Play, "Sportingbet Casino: Slot Games", alongside the sportsbook app; both use your existing login. More on the apps is on our app page.

Free Spins and Win Spins are different products

Sportingbet's help pages describe two kinds of spin offer.

Free Spins Win Spins
How it plays A set number of spins on specific slots You keep spinning until you have won a set number of times
Can it return nothing? Yes, every spin can lose No, a number of wins is guaranteed
Where it applies The slots named in the offer Casino games only
What the winnings become Withdrawal-restricted casino bonus Casino bonus under the offer's terms (see More Info)
If you do not use them They expire and are lost Check the expiry shown in More Info

Win Spins sound like the better deal, and in one sense they are: you cannot finish with zero wins. The size of each win, though, still depends on the slot, and what you collect is bonus money rather than cash.

From spin winnings to cash: a 10x example

Say a set of free spins returns £6.40. That amount does not go into your cash balance. It is credited as casino bonus that is locked for withdrawal until the wagering is complete.

UK rules in force since 19 January 2026 cap wagering at 10x the bonus amount, and Sportingbet's usual figure is 10x. On £6.40, that means £64 of qualifying play.

Stake per spin Minimum spins to reach £64
£0.20 320
£0.50 128
£1.00 64
£2.00 (the maximum) 32

The number of spins is not the point, the total staked is. Results along the way move your balance up or down, and you may run the £6.40 to zero long before you reach £64. If you finish the wagering with money left, that balance is released.

Two details are worth knowing before you start. Your own deposit is not locked by a bonus; only the bonus winnings are. And asking to withdraw before the wagering is done can wipe out the bonus along with whatever it has produced, so finish or forfeit before cashing out. The wider rules on locked balances are covered in our guide to bonus funds.

The £2 stake ceiling

Sportingbet's Standard Promotional Terms for the UK set a maximum stake of £2 per spin or hand while you are playing with a casino or live casino bonus. That limit applies to the bonus money from spin winnings too. Raising the stake to clear wagering faster is exactly what the rule is there to prevent, and large single stakes relative to a bonus are also listed among the patterns treated as irregular play.

If a slot lets you set a higher bet, it will not stop you. Keeping to £2 is your job, not the game's.

Why sports bets no longer earn spins

In its 2025 version, Sportingbet's welcome offer included a Casino Challenge: £50 wagered earned a £10 casino bonus and 20 free spins. That version has gone. On 19 January 2026, the Gambling Commission banned promotions that mix gambling products, so a bet on football can no longer be the qualifying step for slot spins.

The practical effect is simple. The sports welcome offer now pays in FreeBets and tokens only, described on our welcome bonus page, and any spins you see are casino offers on their own terms. If a site still advertises "bet £10 on sport, get 20 spins" for Sportingbet, it is describing the old structure.

A short checklist for any spin offer:

Frequently asked questions

Does Sportingbet give free spins to new customers?

Not as part of the current sports welcome offer. The 2025 Casino Challenge with 20 free spins was withdrawn when the UK banned mixed-product promotions in January 2026. Casino spin offers are assigned separately in the Casino tab.

Are Sportingbet free spin winnings paid in cash?

No. Winnings from Free Spins are credited as withdrawal-restricted casino bonus. They become withdrawable once the wagering, at most 10x, has been completed.

What are Win Spins at Sportingbet?

Win Spins are free spins with guaranteed wins: you play until you have won a set number of times. They are available in the casino only.

Can I use free spins on any slot?

No. Each offer names the slots it works on, and spins cannot be moved to other games.

What happens if I do not use my free spins in time?

They expire and are removed from your account. The expiry is shown in the offer's More Info screen.

Slots are fast, and bonus wagering can quietly turn a few pounds of winnings into a long session. Set a deposit limit or a time-out in your account before you start, and if play stops feeling like entertainment, GAMSTOP lets you block all UK-licensed sites at once.
