What to have ready before you start
Five minutes of preparation saves a stalled account later. Have these to hand:
- an email address you check regularly, since offer messages and verification requests arrive there;
- your full legal name, date of birth and current UK address, written exactly as they appear on your documents;
- a debit card or other payment method registered in your own name — not a credit card and not a card from a Money Service Business such as Wise, N26 or Post Office Travel;
- documents that show your identity and address, in case you are asked to upload them.
It is also worth confirming you have no existing account with Coral, bwin or PartyPoker. Those brands share a licence with Sportingbet, and no new accounts are permitted across them. Our eligibility guide explains this rule in full.
Registration screen by screen
Step 1: email and password
Sportingbet's UK sign-up form runs over three steps, and the first asks only for your email address and a password. Choose a password you do not use anywhere else. Check the email for typos before moving on, because a wrong address means you will not see confirmation or offer messages.
Steps 2 and 3: your personal details
The remaining screens collect the details Sportingbet uses for its age and identity checks. Pick United Kingdom from the country list, which means your balance will be held in GBP. Enter your name, date of birth and address in the same form they take on your ID and bank statement.
Small differences cause most verification delays — a missing middle name, a nickname instead of a full first name, an old flat number. The exact layout of these screens can change, but the information they ask for is driven by UK verification rules and stays broadly the same.
When asked about marketing preferences, bear in mind that campaign PromoCodes are often sent by email. Leaving email marketing switched off means you will not receive them, though it has no effect on the welcome offer.
Verification after sign-up
UK rules require Sportingbet to confirm your name, age (18 or over) and address. If the checks need documents, you will be asked to upload them, and you cannot withdraw anything — including winnings from welcome FreeBets — until the check is complete. More detail on documents and timings is in our KYC guide.
Your first deposit
Open the cashier and choose a method. Depending on your account, options include debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and bank transfer; the cashier shows what is available to you and the minimum for each method. For the welcome offer, reviews put the minimum qualifying deposit at £10, and the UK maximum for any single deposit is £2,000.
Keep the following in mind at this stage:
- deposits must come from a method in your name;
- you can have at most three active payment methods in a rolling 30 days;
- withdrawals usually return to the method you deposited with, so pick one you are happy to be paid back to.
This is also the moment to set a deposit limit, which is quick to do and easy to forget once you start betting.
Opting in and the 30-day window
The welcome offer is not applied automatically. Go to Offers, open the sign-up promotion, read More Info and opt in. Sportingbet counts only bets placed after the opt-in, so a bet struck a minute earlier is ignored even if it meets every other condition.
At the time of writing (October 2026), the offer consists of three Welcome Challenges — a pre-match football single, an accumulator of three or more legs and an in-play single, each for £10 or more at odds of 1/2 (1.50) or longer. You have 30 days from registration to complete them, in any order. What each reward is worth in pounds depends on your stakes and results; confirm the current terms in Offers before betting.
More Info also shows your progress on each challenge, lets you activate, pause or delete offers, and keeps an Offer History covering the last six months.
